Welcome

Olive Mount Farm has been the home of veterinary surgeons Rachel Pike and Pip Boydell since 2005 when they moved out of the City of Manchester to a 30 acre small holding in Chat Moss, an area of reclaimed moss land within a large green belt area near Irlam. The 24 acre plot of scrub land at the back of the farm was ploughed in 2005 and sown with grass to provide pasture for the horses, sheep and alpacas. Hedgerow and trees have been planted around the boundary to add more interest to the landscape. The small herd has grown over the years as Rachel is striving to breed good quality animals for sale as companion pets, or for breeding and showing.

In her spare time Rachel likes to ride and compete her dressage horse Hero, while Pip likes to run his Chinese kickboxing gym in Cheadle, Manchester. They continue to run a busy referral veterinary practice in Chorlton, Manchester. Their veterinary special interests include intensive care medicine and neurophthalmology in most species.

The cats

Picture

Ham (above left) is one of a pair of kittens her brother 'Green eggs' sadly died.
Itsy bitsy mother of the "teenie weenies" (pictured right). Teenie, Weenie, Yellow and our latest addition Bruce Lee (pictured middle)

Teenie, Yellow and Bruce Lee very generously donate blood when the occasion arises to feline blood type A patients at the Animal Medical Centre as they are of reasonable size and temperament. The cats spend most of their day asleep ready for the evenings hunting in the barns.
